Too much paper in your life? The City of Vallejo and VALCORE Recycling sponsor shredding events on the 3rd Sat of each month. The next one will be on September 21, 2019. See your paper shredded while the shredding truck is onsite. The event happens rain or shine. Hours: 10 am – 2 pm Cost: ~$.50/lb with a $10 minimum charge Payment: Cash or check only; no bills larger than $50. Location: VALCORE Recycling, 38 Sheridan St. off Solano Ave, one block west of Curtola Parkway. Procedure: On entering Sheridan St, pull as far forward as you can and park on the right side. Staff will come to your car with toters to collect your paper. Paper clips and staples are acceptable. Larger pieces of metal such as binders, metal bars in hanging file folders, and large binder clips need to be removed. For future shredding dates or for information about the weekday shredding program: www.valcorerecycling.org and click on the paper shredding link or call VALCORE at 707 645-8258. VALCORE also accepts for recycling textiles (clothes, bedding, shoes, purses etc.), toner and ink cartridges, books, office supplies, paper, cardboard, food container glass, plastic bottles, and more. For a full list of what is accepted, go to the website at www.valcorerecycling.org and click on the donation and buyback links on the home page. VALCORE is pleased to be working with www.maktabas.org in their efforts to set up libraries in Kenya. Many of the books that are donated to VALCORE are sent to Kenya for this project. Come check out the ReUse Barn which is full of free books, binders and other odds and ends. Ask the staff if you need moving boxes as there is often a supply available. The buyback operation and ReUse Barn are open Mon-Sat 10:00 am - 4:30 pm; closed for lunch 1-2. Donations are accepted starting at 9:00 am. VALCORE is a non-profit organization with proceeds going back to the local community. I'm posting this for a friend, so please contact VALCORE directly with any questions.
