Great Vallejo Ducky Derby (July)
The Great Vallejo Ducky Derby is a rubber duck race on the 4th of July at Vallejo’s Waterfront. Approximately, 12,000 rubber ducks are released in the Mare Island Strait near the Vallejo Ferry Terminal Building. The individually numbered ducks are carried by the current for approximately fifty yards. The winners are plucked from the water, the winning numbers are verified, and the corresponding names of the winning ticket-holders matching the numbers will be confirmed. The annual Ducky Derby is a cooperative fund-raiser organized by the Vallejo Chamber of Commerce and the Vallejo Rotary Club. Numbered tickets for the race are sold throughout the community by teams made up of Chamber and Rotary members, businesses and non profit organizations. The funds raised by ticket sales, after expenses for the event are deducted, are used to provide third-grade students at all 17 public elementary schools, 4 private schools and 3 Catholic schools in Vallejo with a hard-bound, children’s dictionary that is theirs to keep.
Golf Tournament (July)
The day’s events will include a lunch and dinner, in addition to 18 holes of great golf played in teams of four at one of our local chamber member golf clubs. A complete mulligan package is also included with each entry. Event sponsorships, Contest sponsorships and tee signs are available for members only. This event is limited to 144 golfers and sells out early each year.

All teachers receive complementary admission, food and drink, as well as special raffle prizes. Additionally, members are encouraged to bring school supplies which are then donated to Vallejo schools.
