SolTrans Would Like to Introduce the Red Line!
Effective June 30, 2019
Vallejo, CA – On Sunday, June 30, 2019 Solano County Transit (SolTrans) will introduce their newest route, the Red Line. The Red Line provides a one seat trip weekdays and Saturdays from Suisun City Amtrak to El Cerrito del Norte BART stopping along the way at Solano Town Center, Fairfield Transportation Center, Solano Community College, Six Flags and the Vallejo Transit Center. On Sundays the Red Line will provide service from the Vallejo Transit Center to El Cerrito del Norte BART and back.
The Red Line is the final phase of the SolanoExpress Corridor Study a joint effort between Solano Transportation Authority (STA), Fairfield and Suisun Transit (FAST) and SolTrans. The study began in 2014 and has evolved over the years into the SolanoExpress Yellow Line and Red Line operated by SolTrans and the Blue Line and Green Express operated by FAST. The goal of the study was to create easier travel within Solano County and better connections to other bay area transit options.
The Red Line is a merger of SolTrans’ current Route 80 and Route 85, which will discontinue after Saturday, June 29, 2019.
The Red Line will provide weekday morning and afternoon/evening trips every 15 minutes between El Cerrito del Norte BART and Vallejo Transit Center and hourly weekday trips north to Fairfield and Suisun City. Saturday riders will be able to travel south to El Cerrito del Norte BART every 30 minutes and north to Fairfield or Suisun City every 2 hours. The stops on the Red Line will include Vallejo Transit Center, SolTrans Curtola Park & Ride, El Cerrito del Norte BART Station, Six Flags/ North Vallejo (Highway CA-37 at Fairgrounds Drive), Suisun Valley Road and Kaiser Drive in Fairfield (Solano Community College), Fairfield Transportation Center, Suisun/Fairfield Amtrak Station, and Solano Town Center. There will be two fare levels when traveling on the new Red Line. Riders traveling within Solano County (between Vallejo and Fairfield) will be charged the Solano County Fare (Note the Solano County Fare is not available on Clipper), and riders leaving Solano County (traveling between Vallejo and BART) will pay the Out of County Fare, riders traveling from Suisun City to BART will pay the Out of County Fare, as well. Fare tables and passes available on the SolanoExpress Routes can be found at SolTransRide.com or calling (707) 736-6982.
