County to host Plan Bay Area 2040 open house
SOLANO COUNTY – The public is invited to join Solano County and Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) staff and officials at a community open house event on Monday, May 15 at the Solano County Events Center, located at 601 Texas Street in Fairfield starting at 6 p.m. to weigh in on the transportation and housing needs for the Bay Area through 2040.
The Plan Bay Area 2040 open house event is a joint effort by MTC and the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) and will be hosted in Solano County, as well as eight other Bay Area counties over the next several weeks.
“I invite anyone who has an interest in planning for a prosperous and sustainable future to attend this open house event,” says Jim Spering, Solano County District 3 Supervisor.  “Participants will be able to share their perspectives, present their ideas and meet with regional planners who share a passion to make Solano County and the Bay Area region a great place to live, learn, work and play.”
The Plan Bay Area 2040 is a roadmap to help Bay Area cities and counties preserve the character of their diverse communities while adapting to the challenges of the future population growth.
