COMMUNITY OPEN HOUSE AND PLANNING COMMISSION STUDY SESSION ON NEW ZONING CODE PROJECTVALLEJO, CA - On Monday, November 4, the City of Vallejo will hold a Community Open House and Planning Commission Study Session on Module 3 - Part B of the New Zoning Code Project, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in the Vallejo Room of the John F. Kennedy Library, located at 505 Santa Clara Street.
The upcoming open house is an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the second section of Module 3, which includes updated regulations on: Parking and Loading, Affordable Housing Development, Rules for Measurement, and Massage Parlors.
The Module 3 Report is available at www.PropelVallejo.com and can be viewed, here. Click here to access the Public Notice/Flyer.
Immediately following the open house, the Planning Commission will hold a study session at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, located at 555 Santa Clara Street. Members of the public are invited to address the commission. Written comments on Part A of the Module 3 Report are due by Monday, October 28, 2019, and comments on Part B are due by Friday, October 25, 2019. Comments can be emailed to Michelle.Hightower@cityofvallejo.net or submitted to staff during the Open House, at the Study Session, or to the Planning Division at 555 Santa Clara Street on the second floor.
The existing Zoning Code predates the new Propel Vallejo General Plan 2040 adopted by City Council in 2017 and updated in 2018, and California law requires that the City's Zoning Code be consistent with the General Plan. The new Zoning Code will translate Vallejo's General Plan 2040 into specific regulations to control land uses within the City and streamline the development review process, making it easier to live and do business in Vallejo. The process is scheduled to take 12 to 15 months to complete.
